NORTH GREENBUSH - The Rensselaer County Health Department lifted the boil water order this morning for four communities that faced the loss of water after a main broke on Monday.
Residences on Glenmore Road must continue to boil water until further notice, the county said.
The boil water order was issued after a break in the main on Glenmore Road. The 45-year-old main links the town to the water supply from Troy.
Officials blamed the age of the pipes for the break. The pipe was repaired Tuesday.
The boil water order was lifted for the entire city of Rensselaer and East Greenbush as well as Schodack Water Districts 2A, 2B, 5, 8, and 4; North Greenbush Water Districts 4 (RPI Tech Park), and 8, including Lumbermans and Montessori School.
